PBA Western Australia-Facebook
The file linked below opens an Excel document that contains the latest ranking for the PBA members based in New Zealand. The list is compiled from singles and pairs results in four PBA qualifying competitions for the televised World Bowls Tour events, and two extra ranking events.
Players use these to set personal goals, they can be used to sort which losing semifinalist is asked first to replace the winner and runner-up if they choose not to take a WBT spot, centre and national selectors have asked for them, three year end trophies are awarded from them, and in recent years, the NZ PBA has sent a team to play against the Australian PBA in an International Challenge using these rankings.
The team to play Oz is the four top ranked players from the previous year, plus one invite (the best performed kiwi from the previous year's Challenge v Australia, or, if they are still within the top four ranked players, then the fifth ranked player from the previous year).
In 2014 the East Cessnock club invited a second NZ PBA team to compete in a new $40,000 International Invitation 5s tournament during the week leading up to the Challenge v Australia. And in 2018 and 2019 the team has been supplemented to make up singles, pairs and triples for the Victorian Open in Shepparton. These teams have also been picked working down the previous year's rankings list.
